HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm 

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver to join a busy plant haulage operation, carrying out mainly local deliveries across Essex. 

You will be responsible for the safe loading, transportation and unloading of plant and machinery, using an automatic Class 1 low loader vehicle. 

Duties will include: 

• Transporting plant and machinery to sites across Essex and surrounding areas 

• Loading and unloading plant safely 

• Securing machinery and equipment correctly for transport 

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks 

• Completing delivery and transport paperwork 

• Working in line with tachograph, driver hours and transport regulations 

• Liaising with customers, site teams and the transport office 

Loads can vary considerably and may involve combinations operating at up to approximately 65 tonnes gross train weight, depending on the vehicle and load. 

What we are looking for: 

• HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence 

• Valid Driver CPC 

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card 

• Previous low loader experience 

• Previous plant haulage experience 

• Confident loading and unloading heavy plant and machinery 

• Good knowledge of load security 

• Flexible approach to working hours when required 

Hours: 

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm 

The role is predominantly local, although some flexibility with start and finish times will occasionally be required depending on deliveries and collections. 

Pay: 

£20.00 – £24.00 per hour, depending on experience. 

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced plant haulage driver looking for good hourly pay, predominantly local work and a Monday-to-Friday position.
