    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
    Additional Earnings: £4,800 – £5,400 per annum through alternate Saturday working

    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday, day shift + every other Saturday

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Mechanical Engineer to join their busy manufacturing site near Earls Colne.

    This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced maintenance engineer or a field service engineer looking to come off the road and move into a permanent, site-based role. You’ll be responsible for keeping production equipment operating efficiently through planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement activities.

    The successful candidate will enjoy fault finding, problem solving and working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing machinery and equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
    • Maintain conveyors, bearings, hydraulic systems and associated mechanical equipment.
    • Replace and repair worn mechanical components.
    • Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery remains operational.
    • Assist with equipment installations and machinery improvements.
    • Record maintenance activities accurately using maintenance systems.
    • Promote high standards of health and safety at all times.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the factory.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Previous experience in a Mechanical Maintenance or Mechanical Service Engineer position.
    • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
    • Experience working with conveyors, bearings and hydraulic systems.
    • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
    • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
    • Good communication skills and a proactive approach.
    • Manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance experience would be highly advantageous.
