Technical Operations Supervisor – Building Services

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Operations Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of a busy mobile engineering team.

This role would suit an experienced Building Services Engineer, HVAC Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Lead Engineer or Maintenance Engineer who is looking to move into a more supervisory and office-based position.

The successful candidate will support engineers, clients and internal teams to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Full training will be provided, with supervisory responsibilities introduced as you develop into the role.

Duties Will Include

• Supporting the daily operation of the mobile engineering team.
• Providing technical guidance to engineers, coordinators and clients.
• Assisting with the planning and coordination of maintenance and reactive works.
• Helping to allocate the most suitable engineer to each job.
• Monitoring job progress, engineer reports, return visits and suspended jobs.
• Reviewing outstanding works and supporting the reduction of aged WIP.
• Liaising with clients, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Supporting quotations for further works and urgent client requests.
• Helping to resolve service issues, complaints and escalations.
• Promoting high standards of customer service and engineer performance.
• Supporting engineer productivity, report quality and workmanship standards.
• Assisting with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and site audits where required.
• Maintaining accurate records, job updates and operational information.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience within building services, facilities management, commercial maintenance or engineering services.
• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical or HVAC systems.
• Experience supporting or coordinating engineers, subcontractors or maintenance works.
• Good technical problem-solving ability.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Confident communication skills with engineers, clients and internal teams.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Customer-focused approach to service delivery.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
• Level 3 trade qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel independently when required.

Desirable Experience

• Previous supervisory, lead engineer or team leader experience.
• Experience within a mobile engineering environment.
• Knowledge of CAFM or maintenance management systems.
• Understanding of compliance and statutory maintenance requirements.
• IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification.
• Experience preparing or reviewing quotations.
