    Job Description: Training Business Development Consultant

    Location: Essex / Hybrid

    Salary: £32,000–£38,000 + Commission (OTE £55,000–£70,000)

    Reports to: CEO & Managing Director

    Role Overview

    We are seeking an ambitious and consultative Training Business Development Consultant to drive the growth of our training and development services.

    This role focuses on developing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and promoting our range of leadership, management, and compliance training solutions — including our innovative “In-a-Box” programmes and training retainers.

    You will play a key part in building long-term partnerships with clients, supporting them to invest in their people, and ensuring our training offering becomes a core part of their business success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Identify and engage prospective clients across SME and mid-market sectors
    • Proactively generate leads through networking, calls, LinkedIn and events
    • Conduct discovery calls and meetings to understand client needs
    • Present tailored training solutions, proposals and retainer options
    • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to signed agreement
    • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking

    Client Relationship Management

    • Build strong, consultative relationships with HR leaders, directors and business owners
    • Regularly follow up with existing clients to uncover new training needs
    • Work closely with the delivery team to ensure a seamless client experience
    • Attend client review meetings and support long-term account growth

    Marketing & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns, case studies and content
    • Attend networking events, exhibitions and webinars to represent the brand
    • Feed back market trends, client insights and competitor intelligence

    Skills & Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience in B2B business development, ideally within training, HR, or professional services
    • Proven success in consultative sales and closing new business
    • Confident presenting to senior decision-makers (MDs / HRDs)
    • Excellent communication, listening and questioning skills
    • Target-driven with strong commercial awareness
    • Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently

    Package & Benefits
