Welder / Fabricator

Location: Gosfield, Essex (due to location, own transport is required)
Salary: £14 – £16 per hour (DOE) + overtime + production bonuses
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:00

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join a skilled production team in the Halstead area.

You will be responsible for fabricating and welding key structural components used in the production of large pieces of kit. Working from drawings and production schedules, you’ll play an important part in ensuring they deliver products to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on mild steel components (typically 5mm+).
• Fabricate assemblies and subframes in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings accurately to produce precise welds and assemblies.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily build targets and deadlines.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and workspace in good condition.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic and pride in their craft.

Essential:

• Proven MIG welding experience on steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Understanding of workshop health and safety practices.

Desirable:

• Experience in all-position MIG welding.
• Background in large vehicle or heavy steel fabrication.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines.
