Julia Palmer-Randall is marking a work milestone this month, having worked for recruitment specialists SVC Solutions for 18 years. Here she tells of her satisfaction in helping people to find their perfect job…
September 5th marks a significant milestone for me. It is 18 years since I walked through the doors and joined Amanda Coulson and the team at SVC.
I had registered with SVC as a candidate a few weeks prior to that. I had worked within the industry for nine years as a technical recruiter and I had become disillusioned with the industry. I was adamant I wanted out and I did not want to do it any more.
Amanda sat me down, explained why I should not leave, had faith in me and said come and work for her, explaining why SVC was different.
I have had a lot of opportunities in the past 18 years. I have grown as a recruiter and I have learnt a lot. I have learnt to love the industry again.
I love nothing more than placing a candidate in a position and watching them grow and develop and progress their career into management or directorship, and over the last 18 years I have regularly played a part in that.
